We have just moved from Texas to Maryland. We are blown away by all of the beauty in this area of the country! We are blessed to live in a very rural area with post card views every few seconds as you drive down the windy, hilly roads. So far, we love it...except for the lack of internet! We used up our entire internet allowance (only 25 gigs a month... biggest plan available) in only 8 days. I am sitting at the library right now uploading all of this! ARGH! Well, I guess there's a price for all of this beauty!
Here's our new home:
Our driveway- tree lined...
Huge trees near garage... Caleb calls them Christmas trees! He's asked if we could put lights and ornaments on them at Christmas! Ummm, we don't have a ladder that tall, Caleb. "Mom, no problem. I'll just climb to the top and put them on!" I'm sure you would, Caleb.
Our front yard...
Blueberry bushes in our front yard... we've had fresh blueberries everyday with our lunch. YUM!
The view across the street at sunset... nice, big field. No neighbors!
The backyard: We are fortunate to be situated on 6 acres of rolling, beautiful land. There's a "brambly hedge" as the kids call it, with a nice little shed tucked in for playing. The kids call it, "Fort Busti."
Our view from the shed, towards the back of the property:
Come on in! Our living room...
Our dining room...
Kitchen...
Computer/Reading room (so we can monitor kids on the computer from the living room, kitchen or school room):
School Room with a gorgeous view of the back of the property:
Fun black and white accessories from dear friends! Love you gals!
I'm able to feature my black and white photos of the kiddos in the schoolroom:
1/2 bath near kitchen and school room. Cool sink!
Entry area off of garage:
Master Bedroom on first floor:
Lovely doors and private balcony looking towards back of property:
From living area, looking into kitchen (first floor) and up to loft (Tony's office):
Tony has an amazing view from his office window:
Upstairs hallway, featuring a wall of books and my collection of radio flyer minis:
TEXAS THEME BATHROOM: We want the kids to wake up every day and see the TEXAS flag and remember where they're from!
I was able to feature some of my photographs from Texas in the bathroom.
TEXAS CHILD poem. Google this if you haven't read it. Great poem. I was also able to include the boys toddler boots in this room.
See the label inside the boot? TEXAS MADE.
Ally Beth's more "mature" room. She wanted to depart from hot pink and lime green after a 5 year run. She picked out some nice colors!
She has a writing desk right by her window. Lovely view. Wish I had a desk like this!
The boys room. Cathedral ceiling makes the room feel huge! The window is lovely, but we had to block it off. We heard Caleb comment, "Hey, Blane, let's jump out of that window onto the tree out there." Um, no. Hopefully, the dresser will deter him. Maybe.
Only 1/2 mile from our house is a hop on point for a great bike/walking trail that was a "Rails to Trails" project. The trail is AWESOME. I cannot begin to tell you how lovely the views are and how much fun we've had on these trails!
Trail runs by a river:
Come Visit! We'd love to have you! We have plenty of room!
